Star Wars Galaxies: The Beginning Of The End

You know, I actually remember in Pre-CU being in the Bestine Cantina healing my mind. There were only a couple of entertainers there and they were probably AFK. Someone came in with a friend and started talking about how SWG was going down, because Bestine Cantina should never have been this empty. I didn't really believe them because Coronet, Mos Eisley, and other major cities' cantinas were always packed. How could they draw this conclusion from just Bestine? I also remember hearing tales of Anchorhead being Rebel central. But anytime I'd pass through on my way to Jabba's Palace, it was a ghost town.

It was all I ever knew. Bestine itself was always busy (I was a Master Doc and always could find patients in the Med Center) and the starport was always busy, but for some reason the Cantina there was always empty. And that really worried me that if SWG was really falling from glory that the game I knew and loved may decay further and I'd lose the only game that had drew me into it the way SWG had. So I've got to agree with you that SWG, even though I was trying not to see it, was already decaying.

But man, CU killed half of my profession's worth instantly (buffs) and made the Med Centers barren and then the NGE killed the population that were my patients. After CU there was nobody inside the starports anymore, and after NGE there was nobody OUTSIDE the starports anymore, which was always the main hang out in any city. That's when I knew the game was dead.

CU was the start of killing the professions interdependency on each other, and that's really what intrigued me about SWG...every profession had a purpose and was needed. But I still have trouble believing the game would have been as dead as it is now, without the CU or NGE. Yes it was decaying, but not at that rate.
